Oregon Trigger Point Dry Needling Status


Dry Needling is accepted internationally as a tool of physical therapy.

Physical Therapy clinicians throughout the country are working with their state boards to gain acceptance of this technique.

Oregon TDN State Status

Currently Oregon has stated that Trigger Point Dry Needling technique is likely within the scope of practice, but advises until further education and training requirements have been made therapists do not perform it.  The board is still currently discussing this topic and we highly recommend contacting them to voice your interest.

As of July 17th the PT Board of Oregon determined that dry needling was in the scope of practice for a PT.  An official release was done in the fall newsletter. Click here to read.
